Galentine’s Day

February 13, 2020

What would we do without our best girlfriends? My girls mean the world to me and I am always looking to them for laughs, inspiration, support and advice. I know Valentine’s Day is the big highlight for the month of February but we can’t forget about our girls!

Take some time out of your day and write them a card, send flowers, send a gift card for lunch or coffee, or surprise them with little gifts. There’s no “right” way to celebrate but personally, I love going the extra mile.

Below, I have listed some outfit ideas, my top favorite places for a few group activities, a Galentine’s staycation and have also linked the outfits you’ll be seeing throughout the post. So plan happy and shop happy!

A huge shoutout and thank you to my beautiful models in today’s Galentine’s post for flawlessly showing off all of the different outfits! To Adrienne, Anna, Emily and Jenna: thank you for always being so eager to support my creative ventures. Each one of you inspire me in different ways and I could not be any more grateful for the friendship I have in each of you. My Galentine’s Day would not be complete without you nor would I be able to show off our beautiful town of Bluffton or neighboring city, Savannah, without you ladies.

So from the very depths of my heart, thank you!

Outfit Ideas

I strive for balance in both work and leisure so it’s no wonder I have a deep love for coordinating outfits in group settings. Coordinating Galentine’s Day outfits, especially with a larger group, can help create contrast between the different shades of oranges, reds, pink and purples.

Lowcountry Living

Living in the Lowcountry gives me endless options for different ways and places to celebrate Galentine’s Day. There’s no right way to celebrate a special day like today. Get dressed up and take a walk around town or stay in, throw on the sweats and cue the movie marathon! If you’re in the area and are wanting to explore some group-friendly activities for you and your girls, here are my top picks when…

Making a brunch reservation:

Jane Bistro and Bar (Hilton Head)

The French Bakery (Hilton Head)

Fishcamp on Broad Creek (Hilton Head)

The Black Marlin Bayside Grill (Hilton Head)

Booking a spa day:

Heavenly Spa at the Westin (Hilton Head)

Setting up a picnic:

Personally, I love picnic’s at the beach. Luckily, Hilton Head has several public beaches where you and your girls can set up a fun beach picnic.

Scheduling a wine tasting:

Rollers Wine and Spirits (Hilton Head)

Island Winery (Hilton Head)

Getting a group together at an art studio or signing up for a floral arrangement class:

AR Workshop (Hilton Head)

Branches (Hilton Head)

Booking a staycation at a local hotel:

The DeSoto Savannah Hotel (Savannah)

The Alida Hotel (Savannah)

The Perry Lane Hotel (Savannah)

This year, my pick for a perfect Galentine’s day is a staycation in the historic, charming city of Savannah, Georgia.

Galentine’s at the DeSoto Savannah Hotel

Grab a girlfriend, or two, and stay a night at the DeSoto Savannah Hotel. This charming Savannah hotel started our evening off with a fun surprise of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. With the swift check in process, we were able to get settled in fairly quickly and have enough time to take in a beautiful view of the Savannah. Wait, this is still a Galentine’s and not a full on Valentine’s event, right? Haha, only kidding!

Check-in begins at 4 p.m. which gives and your girls plenty of time to get unpacked and started on your evening before your dinner reservation at the 1540 Room. The 1540 Room, a restaurant located in the lobby of the hotel, is “a stylish eatery offering Southern-infused global cuisine.”

Our stay coincided with Savannah’s restaurant week, so we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy offerings from both their regular menu and restaurant week menu. After dinner, take a walk through the beautiful park squares surrounding the historic district of Savannah. There is so much history and culture embedded deep into the cobblestone and brick squares. Most squares are named after a historical figure and include a landmark or a plaque about their impact or influence on the city of Savannah. I guarantee you’ll learn something new!

If your girl group is still going strong, stop in at one of the many bars lined up and down the streets of Savannah. Don’t forget, the DeSoto Hotel also has their very own lounge, Edgar’s Proof and Provision. A kick-off with stunning views and champagne, followed by dinner and an evening out will surely be a Galentine’s evening to remember.

Awesome experience. Last February my girl friends and I celebrated Valentine’s day in Savannah GA. It was my first time to visit that’s why I asked https://www.visitsavannah.com if I can get a copy of their Savannah Georgia travel guide pdf and I’m thankful that I did because the girls had so much fun.

I love knowing you were able to experience Valentine’s day in Savannah! I hope you had an incredible time and are able to come again soon!
